Television debut Africa Rising was featured in a North Carolina public television series on social entrepreneurialism. You can view a six minute clip on Africa Rising at the UNC TV website. Social entrepreneurialism is about creative ways of addressing social needs through business models - either for-profit or non-profit.  Although Africa Rising is a non-profit itself, we support the growth of for-profit and non-profit social entrepreneurialism in Africa.

SUCCESS STORY
Africa Rising works by extending the networks of the organizations we support. This summer we did this for the Millenium School in Mityana, Uganda. With guidance from Africa Rising, some faculty and staff of Duke University’s Global Health Institute created a summer project that would benefit the Millenium School and some Duke students who would carry out the project. Eight Duke students traveled to Uganda for two months. Read More... 
OUR STORY

The work of Africa Rising is done by about 12 people and continues to grow. We all have “day jobs” and volunteer our evenings and weekends to the work of Africa Rising.
